A few days ahead of 018 World Cup drawing, FIFA released the official poster of the world’s biggest soccer celebration. The poster was a unique retro style.
The poster features the legendary Russian goalkeeper Lev Yashin. Yashin, who is touted as one of the best goalkeepers of all time, is portrayed in the middle of a rescue action.
The poster is made in retro style, so it has a strong old-fashioned impression. Included also in the selection of colors and designs. Quoted from the official website of FIFA, this poster was created by a Russian artist named Igor Gurovich.
“The 2018 World Cup official poster is a perfect reflection of Russian art and football heritage,” said Fifa Secretary General, Fatma Samoura.
Associated with the figure of Lev Yashin, the goalkeeper is one of the best players ever Russia. Yashin, who has four appearances at the World Cup, is currently still the only goalkeeper to win the Ballon d’or.
Yashin appeared on the poster in his own outfit, a pair of sweatshirts and pants. He is pictured holding a ball, which is also retro-style. The ball is also divided into two parts, one of which describes the land of Russia when viewed from the sky.
World Cup 2018 will be held in Russia from 14 June to 15 July. While the group phase steam will be held on 1 December day after tomorrow.
